Reggie Bush #1 Pick Overall
Reggie Bush says he was so widely expected to go No. 1 overall in the 2006 NFL Draft that Houston was the only team to interview him during the pre-draft process.
Bush said his family had become so convinced he was headed to Houston that they had already started looking at homes in the area:
"31 teams didn’t interview me, ‘cause they was like, ‘He’s not even gonna be available.’ So I only interviewed with the Houston Texans. I didn’t even speak to the Saints or the Jets, who had the third pick…"
"We had already started looking for property, homes in Houston. And we found out the night of the draft on ESPN. That’s how I found out I wasn’t going to be the number one draft pick."
