PNG Eyes Revenge Against SOC

The 2025 high school football playoff game between

South Oak Cliff (SOC) Bears and Port Neches-Groves (PNG) Indians is scheduled for Friday, December 5, 2025, at 7:30 PM. The game is a home playoff game for PNG and will take place at their stadium in Port Neches, TX. 

This will be the latest in a series of highly anticipated matchups between the two Texas powerhouses.

Recent History of the Rivalry

• December 6, 2024: South Oak Cliff defeated Port Neches-Groves with a dominant score of 56-14 in the Class 5A-II state quarterfinals. This victory served as a "revenge game" for SOC. 

• December 16, 2023: Port Neches-Groves won the 5A Division II state championship title game against South Oak Cliff with a final score of 20-17.

• December 16, 2022: South Oak Cliff defeated Port Neches-Groves in the 5A Division II state championship. 

This ongoing rivalry has seen each team prevent the other from achieving consecutive state championship titles in recent years.
