Ortiz is coming off a big win in Riyadh against Israil Madrimov that earned him the interim WBC title. Although there was an expectation that he would return in the summer, Ortiz suffered an injury during February’s fight which kept him from returning to the ring until now. This fight with Lubin is another tough test for Ortiz, who is aiming to face one of the world champions at 154 in 2026.

Lubin has been an interesting person to study, as he has had only one fight in the last two years. After scoring a huge upset decision victory over Jesus Ramos Jr. in September 2023, Lubin has been unable to secure a fight, keeping him out of the ring. Lubin scored an 11th round stoppage over Ardreal Holmes in May, but many wonder if Lubin has been in one too many wars. Which version of Lubin will show up on Saturday night, and will it be enough to beat Ortiz?
