Duncanville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Lancaster Tigers 35-10. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers and Pantherettes' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked third, while the Tigers are ranked 53rd).
Maximus The Great Denson was his usual excellent self, throwing for 227 yards and one TD on only 18 passes, while also rushing for 59 yards and one touchdown on only five carries. Zach Turner was another key player, picking up 107 receiving yards and one score.
Duncanville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brayden Arnold and Edwards.
Despite the loss, Lancaster saw an underclassman step up: freshman Rj On Top picked up 115 receiving yards and one TD.
Duncanville's record now sits at 4-1. As for Lancaster, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Looking ahead, Duncanville will look to defend their home field on Friday against Horn at 7:00 p.m. The Panthers and Pantherettes will be up against the Jaguars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lancaster, they will take on Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers are facing the Skeeters at the right time seeing as the Skeeters are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
